Tapered Carbon Fiber Tube

Xinbo Composites customizes high strength lightweight tapered carbon tubes in a variety of unidirectional inner layers and 3k weave outer surfaces.Tapered carbon fiber tubes are made from a roll-wrapping process, unidirectional layers are oriented to provide high bending stiffness and axial strength, as well as high torsional strength and 3k weave to prevent being cracked. Tapered carbon fiber tube's one end diameter is greater than the other end.

Description

Tapered carbon fiber tubes are designed with a gradually changing diameter along the tube length, providing a lightweight structure with improved stiffness distribution, better handling balance, and reduced material weight compared with constant-diameter tubes in selected applications.

Xinbo Composites supplies custom tapered carbon fiber tubes with tailored diameter, wall thickness, length, layup, surface finish, and machining options. Tubes can be designed for bending stiffness, lightweight performance, impact resistance, telescopic assembly, or specific OEM structural requirements.

Tapered carbon fiber tubes are specialized composite materials that gradually decrease in diameter from one end to the other. They combine the inherent strengths of carbon fiber—such as high stiffness, strength-to-weight ratio, and corrosion resistance—with a unique shape that offers additional advantages in various applications. Tapered tubes can optimize performance by reducing weight and material use in specific areas while maintaining structural integrity where it’s most needed.

Tapered Carbon Fiber Tubes Features
1. Lightweight
2. High Strength and Stiffness
3. Anti-Corrosion
4. Low Thermal Expansion
5. LOW CTE
6. Exceptional Durability

Tapered carbon fiber tubes are used for carbon tail booms for gliders, spearguns, golf shafts, ski poles or other industrial/sporting applications

Tapered Carbon Fiber Tube FAQ

1. What is a tapered carbon fiber tube?

A tapered carbon fiber tube has a gradually changing diameter along its length. This design helps reduce weight, control flex, and improve handling balance in poles, masts, rods, and lightweight structural components.

2. Can tapered carbon fiber tubes be customized?

Yes. Diameter, length, taper ratio, wall thickness, fiber layup, surface finish, and machining details can be customized according to drawings, samples, or application requirements.

3. What surface finishes are available?

Common options include UD carbon, 3K twill or plain weave, polished matte finish, painted glossy or matte finish.

4. What information is needed for a quotation?

Please provide the large-end diameter, small-end diameter, length, wall thickness, taper ratio if available, surface finish, quantity, tolerance requirements, application, and any drawings or samples.

5. Which Style of Carbon Fiber Is Best?
We offer multiple grades of carbon fiber that are optimised for stiffness, strength and price. Standard modulus carbon fiber is most common and usually the most affordable. Intermediate modulus is the strongest available fiber and high modulus tubes are super stiff.

6. What Composites or Materials Do You Use?
Prepregs: Standard, Medium, High and Ultra-high-modulus Carbon Fibers, E-Glass, S-Glass, and Kevlar
Connectors: Metals and Alloys, Including Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Cooper, Titanium Components, Nylon, Plastic Machining Parts

7. What Additional Services Do You Offer?
We offer polishing, CNC machining, coating, bonding & assembly optional services

8. How To Cut or Drill Holes?
We use CNC machining to cut, drill holes, and slot for tubes and plates.

9. What Tube Surface Finishes Do You Provide?
We supply carbon fiber tubes with surface finishes, eg raw, polished, painted, glossy, or matte.

10. What shipment terms do you offer?
Express – for sample orders or urgent orders;
By air – better for goods weighing less than 100kg.
By sea – better for large volume or heavy goods.
